MONTANA AFL-CIO ENDORSES GARY BUCHANAN FOR CONGRESS
HELENA – Today the Montana AFL-CIO, representing 38 unions, 500 locals and 50,000 working people across Montana, announced their endorsement of Gary Buchanan for Congress.
The decision to endorse Buchanan was made by representatives of unions across the state after in-depth interviews on issues and policies important to Montana’s workers.
Gary Buchanan opposes “Right-to-Work” legislation, believes in the power of collective bargaining to elevate local economies, and understands that speaking one on one with Montana’s work force is the only way to truly represent Eastern Montana in Washington. And no one has engaged more Montanans this year than Gary Buchanan. His grassroots campaign to qualify for the ballot gave him vital momentum that will elevate the voices of working people in Washington.
Montanans are independent thinkers who don’t tow party or ideological lines – we just want to get things done,” said Montana AFL-CIO Executive Secretary James Holbrook. “Rep. Matt Rosendale is quite possibly the most ineffective congressional representative in Montana’s history. It’s well past time to get someone elected who takes the job seriously. Over the last two years, Rosendale has worked against the interests of not only Montana’s workers and communities but the nation as a whole. For the workers of Montana and the good of our state, we’re proud to support Gary Buchanan for Montana’s Eastern Congressional District.
